Avinashi Road Clinic
A paediatric clinic designed so children forget they are at the doctor.
The brief
A waiting area for twelve, two consulting rooms, a procedure room and a reception that handles queues without looking like a bank.
A paediatrician wanted a waiting room that lowered blood pressure for children and parents alike. We used rounded joinery, a low reception counter at a child's eye height on one side and an adult's on the other, and a soft light that never glares off a screen.
Our approach
Rounded corners everywhere a small head might meet a counter, a wall-mounted play panel instead of loose toys, and acoustic ceiling baffles to keep the waiting room quiet. The joinery was made in our workshop and installed over a single weekend.
